Here's The Scoop

This is the most miserable girl in the world. Day 4 of high fever and feeling crummy. There's a raging snow storm today, but we had to go to the doctor. Sure enough, she has a sinus infection. Then it was off to Target where we had to wait for her antibiotic to get filled. Poor Lily was just shaking like a leaf and wanted me to hold her. Finally made it back home where we tucked her back in on the couch with water, more water, and movies. Poor little thing.

Meanwhile... my work station is a mess. (That's a soldering iron--not a curling iron.) I really need to clean that up, as well as the rest of the house. Oh, and a hot shower wouldn't hurt, either.

What's the easiest meal to make when you have sick kids and no time to be in the kitchen? Dump a few chicken breasts in a crock-pot with 1/3 jar of BBQ sauce. Slow-cook 'em for a few hours, shred the chicken, add the rest of the sauce, and serve on buns for BBQ chicken sandwiches. Works for me!

1) I'm SO sorry that Lily is so sick....miserable! I hope she starts feeling better very, very soon!

2) Great crock pot idea...thanks! We'll need ideas like that for after baby comes...

3) Um...I really think that we might have the exact same couch as you. Same pillows for sure and looks like the same couch! :)

ahhh poor Lily, those sinus infections are miserable little buggers esp when you have to wait to have you rx filled. Hope those antibiotics target those buggers and she feels better soon. The crock pot thing is funny as I JUST got in from buying the ingrediants for that very thing for the family night I put on at my agency!

I hope Lily feels better real soon!
Here is another fast crock pot recipe. I call it 5 can soup but it is more like a mild chili.
1 can black beans
1 can white corn
1 can red beans
1 can white beans
1 large can tomato sauce
1 package turkey sausage
1 teaspon crushed garlic
salt, pepper, basil, oregeno to taste.
Put all beans in a strainer and rinse. Add to cooker. Cut up raw sausage and plop them and the rest of the ingrediants in and cook on low for 4-5 hours. Yummy with some shredded cheddar on top and some nice crusty bread!!

PS- Dossier is in DC!
