Remember When?
Remember when I said that I could never go vegan because I would miss cheese too much? I really ought to be careful about saying such definitive statements because I am one hair's breath away from doing just that. It's a bit of a long story, and I won't go into it until my birthday (July 13th) because that's probably going to be the big official switch. Suffice it to say, I should try not to say "never" anymore.

And here's the other thing. I am absolutely sick of my hair. It's ugly and bothering me and way too much work. Whose idea was it to grow it out for my big trip to London? Oh yeah. That would be me. Another thing I shouldn't make lofty goals about. Someone talk me out of the path of a sharp pair of scissors.

I have been having hamburgers. Sans cheese. They're not so bad. I miss yogurt terribly. I didn't go vegan, obviously, but still trying to minimize dairy, sugar, coffee and alcohol. I can't wait to hear why no dairy for you. Or is it vegan?

I am in the opposite hair camp. I stare at mine daily and say, why don't you grow????? So I can't help you there.

I will be excited to have the vegan talk as well. I say the same thing "never". But who knows?

You want to cut my hair off at your place and we can tie it to yours or something? I'd be down with that.

DON'T Cut Your Hair! Coming from someone who grows it out, cuts it off, grows it out, cuts it off... and has finally learned to just.leave.it.long.....it ALWAYS gets to a point where you just can't stand it anymore (during the grow out). Give it a little bit more time - or do a MINOR cut - get it shaped, or color it, or find some cute hair things to wear in it (little claws, headbands, sparkly bobby pins - whatever works) to get you over the growing-out hump. BUT DON'T CUT IT - remember, YOU want to be able to wear it in a pony tail in London (and that might be the best hairstyle for that damp English air anyway - it was awfully hard to keep any kind of style going over there without using a ton of gel/hairspray or looking like we'd dunked our heads in a grease bucket.) :)

Is your hair past your collar bone? That is the hardest hurdle according to my hairdresser. That's where I'm at...waiting for my hair to stop lying right on my collarbone. Hang in there--you are (and will be) gorgeous in London!! And...just throw your hair in a pony for the next few months. It's summer afterall!

My hair is exactly at my collarbone. Right in the middle. Not short. Not long. Just in the middle. It's driving me batty. Thanks for the pep talk all.

I'd keep trying. I think you'll end up loving it once it gets longer. And if you don't, cut it! You look great with short hair so either will work for you :)

I'm with Tesi- I'm in desperate need of a haircut and trying to figure out when / how to fit one in before we come there. Maybe we can all go get haircuts together (either before or after the tattoos!!

I've been doing vegan this summer (well, 2 weeks so far) and have loved it...and find I don't miss cheese at all and have become full on in love with almond milk! Go for it! Take the plunge. I have found some amazing blogs with GREAT recipes!

So apparently I'm crashing your pad the weekend prior to the 4th of July (well, not so much your pad... more your party)? I figure we should get to know each other a bit before that. ;-)

No cheese? Holy smokes. I don't know if I could do that.
